The Comcity office park, where Rostelecom decided to move, was built according to the project of the Czech architectural bureau Cigler Marani Architects in 2014. It is located not quite usually: it is customary to place such office clusters all over the world separately from residential quarters, while Comcity faces business with its main facade -the center of Rumyantsevo, and the back side rests against the village of the same name. After a couple of tens of meters, a cottage village begins with the obligatory barking of chain dogs and the grinding of metal gates.
The com prefix in the name hints that the complex was originally built for IT and telecommunications companies. Rostelecom became the anchor tenant. The corporation abandoned its headquarters on 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya, brought together all the departments and a dozen subsidiaries previously scattered around the city. The new office took over the center and west wing of the Comcity main block - a total of almost a gigantic 48,000 m².

The Aurora Group was not afraid of scale. The finished volume was to accommodate 4.5 thousand people. “The design idea of the project is based on creating a comfortable workspace that would be as ergonomic as possible and would improve communication between employees,” the architects explain. So most of the staff was put in an openspace with white walls, gray carpet and false ceilings. Furniture, acoustic screens, information stands and flower pots - in corporate orange and blue colors. Open space stretches along the panoramic windows: there is enough natural light even for those who are sitting on the opposite side
Through a narrow passage behind transparent glass doors, there are meeting rooms, which also catch some of the light from the facade. There are many meeting rooms, they, as the designers assure, are evenly distributed throughout the office space. Recreation areas are located between the working space and meeting rooms - in them, if necessary, you can also chat. Here you can breathe more freely: there are no suspended ceilings, open communications are recessed in black, and “talking” ornaments appear on the walls - stylized images of fiber-optic cable. There is also a conference hall for 200 seats - on the first floor.
The most striking element of the interior is a multimedia hub trimmed with blue artificial stone, designed to showcase the new developments of the corporation. Its streamlined shape is almost alien in appearance, and inside it is futuristic white.
The zone for executive assistants, on the other hand, is strict and conservative. As in the offices of the management, dark veneer and wooden panels of partitions, characteristic of state corporations, are responsible for respectability here.
The air temperature is regulated everywhere by "cold beams": air conditioners were abandoned at the design stage of the building. I must say that the Comcity business park on the Kievskoe highway was built in accordance with the LEED standard. The interior of Rostelecom that settled inside received a BREEAM certificate - for which it was necessary to carefully select finishing materials, while saving money due to the crisis. Combining foreign materials with Russian ones and getting discounts for large volumes of supplies. The office is big.
