The Archpoint Concept Awards ceremony was held last week as part of the PIR exhibition in Moscow, which was held for the second time. This year, the participants had to develop a solution for the public spaces of the Skolkovo Technopark: the design of the coffeepoint or wine pavilion, as well as the concept of using the recreation area in front of them.
The awards were organized by the ARCHPOINT architectural bureau, the PIR Expo exhibition project and the Skolkovo Technopark. Their goal was to find innovative, bold, non-standard designs for the Technopark. A total of 28 works were presented to the jury.
Introducing the top three winners.
First place
Ruben Grigorian, design studio RGN1, Moscow
In this design concept, the jury appreciated the "innovative" randomness: the glass volume of the building is covered with a complex timber composition, which is visible from any point of the lobby. The interior is divided into two parts: a large cylinder for visitors, a small cylinder for staff. A special prize for the winner was a grant for training under the Restaurant Business program at the RMA business school. ***
Second place
Bureau of Projects "Platform", Tyumen
The authors proposed to create a wine pavilion on the territory of the Technopark called Vinarium (from vinum - wine and arium - place). Not only in the name, but also in the design of the concept, there is an analogy with the word "aquarium", since the Vinarium pavilion made of glass and metal has a transparent closed contour. ***
Third place
NEPRA team, St. Petersburg
In this concept, the coffeepoint is not only a place to enjoy coffee, but also a kind of educational space where you can learn a lot about this drink. For example, screens above the bar show interesting information about coffee from around the world. ***
The jury of the award included architects Valery Lizunov and Anton Kochurkin, restaurateur Boris Zarkov, restaurant critics Alexander Ilyin and Daria Orlova, head of the Faculty of Management in the Restaurant Business and Club Industry of the RMA business school Anna Kozlova, as well as the head of the commercial operation of Technopark Skolkovo Dmitry Nizkovsky and General Director of Skolkovo Technopark Renat Batyrov.
