The awarding ceremony took place on December 21 in the large hall of the council of the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Architecture. The nominees waited for the announcement of the results of the competition with jokes and glasses of champagne. Sergei Kuznetsov joked more than anyone else, which did not prevent him from emphasizing the importance of the event, whose main feature, according to the chief architect and chairman of the architectural council, is that all the projects under consideration should be implemented on the territory of Moscow in the coming years. “The prize is awarded to projects that were considered by the architectural council,” explained Kuznetsov. - Council members vote, evaluating the work on a five-point system.

International School "Letovo"

The boarding school is planned to be built on the territory of the Sosenskoye settlement, not far from the Letovo village, located in New Moscow. The project was developed by the Dutch bureau Atelier PRO, which received the right to design as a result of an architectural competition held in 2014. The Russian bureau "Atrium" was the co-author and general designer.
The four-storey school will be built in the center of the educational campus, formed by four blocks of dormitories for students and three blocks of apartment-type dormitories for teachers. It is planned to build a stadium next to residential buildings, organize sports and recreational grounds. All buildings have a variable number of storeys - from 1 to 4 floors - and a complex configuration, thanks to which they can be successfully integrated into the terrain.
The three-petalled school building is designed for 1012 students. Its northeastern and southern "petals" house classrooms and creative workshops, and the west one houses a sports block. The central core of the school is a lobby with a multi-lumen atrium. The transformable space of the atrium, saturated with daylight thanks to the glazing of the southern facade and skylights in the roof, is supposed to be used as a school recreation or an assembly hall. The atrium is adjacent to the stage space. All four floors of the building are united by an amphitheater staircase and a winter garden with a "green wall". From the southern wing of the school, access to the boarding house is provided through a warm underground passage.
For cladding the facades of buildings, it is proposed to use light clinker bricks in combination with anodized aluminum panels and stained glass glazing. As the authors note, the project is based on the principles of creating an effective learning environment, versatility and flexibility of space, safety and comfort of people.
Receiving the award, the authors of the Letovo school project promised to build "a truly valuable building - not only in terms of architecture, but also in terms of education."

Residential building on Vavilov street

A residential building with a total area of 26,104 m² is proposed to be built in Moscow on Vavilov Street. According to the project, the complex will be formed by two adjacent to each other at right angles buildings of variable number of storeys - from 8 to 11 floors. The single-storey stylobate is designed to accommodate commercial premises, shops within walking distance, a built-in kindergarten with terraces of play and walking areas, as well as a sports core, recreational areas and a bicycle parking. The facades of the residential buildings are faced with terracotta fiber cement slabs. Special baskets are provided for placing air conditioner units.
As the designers admitted, the development of a municipal housing project in the “economy class” segment was an unexpected task for them. Nevertheless, the authors tried to make the complex as comfortable as possible and not indifferent to both the city and the people, future residents.

LCD on Avtozavodskaya street

The residential complex is planned to be built on the territory of the former ZIL plant, within the framework of the general concept for the development of the territory, a single design code and a master plan developed by the Project Meganom bureau. Let us remind you that the development of ZIL is divided into lots, each of which is dealt with by separate architectural bureaus. The site on the banks of the Moskva River, along Avtozavodskaya Street, is being developed by the workshop of Sergei Skuratov; it is included primarily in construction.
The complex consists of two blocks with a total area of about 60 thousand square meters. One of them is a 15-storey five-section building. The second one forms a quarter of 14-storey towers located along the perimeter, a 7-storey building with an accordion facade and an extended three-section building. All buildings are placed on a common one-story stylobate designed to accommodate commercial and public functions. There is an inner courtyard on the roof of the stylobate. In the underground part of the complex there is a parking lot, technical rooms, as well as a supermarket overlooking the surface of the courtyard with a skylight.
The facades of the five-section building are decorated with a deep brick lattice of pylons and belts, thinning towards the Moscow River and diluted in the eastern part with corten steel inserts. The second block is decorated with a similar brick lattice over the glazing of balconies and loggias. The seven-story house faces a pedestrian street and is clad with bright corten steel panels.
During the presentation of the award, Sergei Skuratov said that "all housing should be comfortable, regardless of how much money the investor invests in it." “The level of comfort is determined by the architect himself,” Skuratov is sure. “We know how to design comfortable housing, but it is necessary to introduce this knowledge into the field of legislation, so that each architect can implement his project without over-efforts.”

An eight-storey complex with an area of 15,000 m² is planned to be built surrounded by dense and multi-storey residential buildings on Udaltsova Street. In addition to offices, the building will house commercial premises, a one-level underground car park and a shop.
The facades are proposed to be faced with dark clinker bricks. The vertical orientation of the facades is emphasized by the curly protruding pylons made of bricks that line the building from all sides. The territory of the complex is planned to be landscaped and landscaped, to organize recreation areas for employees.
The authors of the project from the SPiCh Grad bureau emphasized that in their project they tried to reduce the scale of multi-storey buildings and, at the same time, to create a cozy and comfortable corner of the urban environment. ***

Multifunctional center on Novoyasenevsky prospect

The multifunctional commercial center is designed at the intersection of Novoyasenevsky Prospekt with Profsoyuznaya Street, not far from the Tyoply Stan metro station. The building with an area of about 2,000 m² has a rather complex shape, which has arisen due to the numerous engineering and insolation restrictions in force on the site. And this is the normative indents from the ventilation kiosks, and the accounting of heating mains passing through the site, and the close location of exits from the metro. But thanks to these restrictions, according to the authors, it was possible to create an interesting compositional solution and a unique architectural image. The idea was actively supported by the customer, despite the high cost of the project.
The glass first floor is reserved for the exhibition center, cafes and other retail. The upper part of the building is stepped and should be composed of aluminum composite consoles: this structure serves as a kind of rain canopy. The main entrance, turned towards the metro station, is designed in the form of a large semicircular niche. It is also planned to install media panels to broadcast advertisements on the facades of the center and the parapet of the roof.

Concert Hall of Philharmonic Music in Zaryadye

The Philharmonic Hall is being built in the eastern part of the future Zaryadye Park. The volume of the hall takes into account the artificially formed relief of the park, which is why a solid part of it is literally dug into the hill. The facades on the other hand are proposed to be clad with a translucent coating with solar panels. A special structural translucent roof covering creates a special microclimate in the recreation area. A spectacular canopy over the main entrance is made of the same material. On the western side, the partially exploited and greened roof of the Philharmonic is gradually merging with the walking park area due to the difference in relief.
On the side of the Moskva River embankment, it is planned to organize an open collapsible stage with a small amphitheater with a capacity of about 150 seats. The concert hall inside the building is designed for 1500 seats. Its total area is 23.6 thousand square meters. Spectator seats in it will be located along the entire perimeter of the room. Natural acoustics are an important characteristic of the hall. Yasuhisa Toyeta, the head of the Nagata Acoustics company and the author of more than 50 concert halls around the world, was specially involved in the design of the hall.
The opening of the Philharmonic building is scheduled for 2018. Sergei Kuznetsov, anticipating the presentation of the award to the winners, admitted that he was even slightly upset when he learned what strong works would compete with the Philharmonic in one nomination: “I confess, I thought that other projects, despite their high quality, simply would not have a chance, - said Kuznetsov. “But the competition turned out to be very tough, Dmitry Bush's projects were one step away from victory.” Vladimir Plotkin himself, the author of the philharmonic project, said that the work on the project was super difficult: “From a purely production, technical point of view, this is, if not a feat, then a huge work, I am glad that it was appreciated,” Plotkin concluded.
