Boros was not chosen by chance as the location of the headquarters - this city, located in the west of Sweden, is the center of the country's textile and clothing industry. There are enough in Boros and all kinds of factories, including machine-building and electrical engineering, so the architect involuntarily had to focus on the industrial environment of the future complex.
The company, which produces fashionable clothes, tried to emphasize belonging to the world of fashion in the architecture of its building - it was such a non-trivial task that was set for Gert Wingord. Certain restrictions were imposed by the site itself, which had a triangular shape. Wingord admits that at first he tried to design a podium building, but then abandoned this idea in favor of a form suggested by the site itself. True, the architect made one corner of the existing triangle straight, sharpened the other two, and made deep cuts in the long sides, indicating the entrance vestibules.
The facades of the triangular building are faced with glass panels, which have been applied with a thin perforated pattern. From a distance, it is perceived as light gray, and its walls acquire a slight reflective effect, which creates the illusion of partial dissolution in the surrounding urban landscape. As you approach the building, the perforation becomes more and more obvious, and behind the thin, like nylon mesh, the outlines of windows and public areas of the first floor appear. In sharp corners, the architect placed spiral staircases that are visible from the street as if in fog.
The interiors of the Gina Tricot headquarters are fundamentally different from the solution of its facades. In the design of interior spaces, whether it be public areas for company employees or showrooms for product demonstrations, clear lines, emphatically brutal, "tangible" pieces of furniture and a combination of snow-white and black colors dominate.
