Accommodation for a changing family

The study by Branko Krstic “Adaptation of apartments to changes in the family structure over time” is devoted to the methods of transforming apartments that improve the quality of family living. The main objective of all projects was to ensure the ability of the living space to change and respond to changes in the composition, structure and needs of its residents.
In experimental projects, methods have been developed for solving the problem of apartments for families developing over time:
- Transformation of apartments in the dimensions of the existing area (sliding partitions, two-level rooms, widening and narrowing of the aisles);
- Connecting two apartments into one and dividing one apartment into two;
- Reconstruction of mass housing and its adaptation to developing families by adding a superstructure or an extension;
- Designing a new type of residential complex with transformable apartments - filling the surrounding frame as the needs of the family change;
- An increase in residential space due to the adaptation of the building to the urban environment (in the project for the reconstruction of a residential area in Grokholsky lane).

The best in constructivism

In the work of Alexander Ulko "Application of volumetric-spatial and architectural-planning methods of constructivism in the design of residential buildings", the ways of prospective development and formation of spatial-planning and architectural-figurative solutions of residential buildings using the principles and techniques of the era of constructivism are proposed.
The national heritage of the era of constructivism, the specificity of the architectural form of residential buildings of the 1920s is studied in detail. The modern world experience of dwelling design is taken into account. The most optimal composition and methods of organizing the main planning elements, their functional interrelationships, the impact on the volumetric-spatial solution of residential buildings and apartments are determined.
Particular attention was paid to the study and implementation of various methods of including public spaces in the functional composition of dwellings.
Renovation for the Kaliningrad region

The goal of Arina Aksenova's research “Renovation of housing stock in the cities of the Kaliningrad region” is to identify and develop promising methods and techniques for architectural planning and volumetric-spatial solutions for renovation in small and medium-sized cities of the Kaliningrad region, in order to restore their lost qualities.
The main task of renovation in small and medium-sized towns of the Kaliningrad region is the pursuit of integrity, the creation of a figurative unity, the integration of new architecture into the historical development. It is necessary to implement an integrated scientific approach to the problem of architectural design and construction of residential buildings in the cities of the Kaliningrad region. The solution requires theoretical generalizations of domestic and foreign architectural experience, the integration of information about the architectural composition, and the development of principles, techniques and models of residential development.
Ecuadorian Indians

The work of Bermeo Puhno "Formation of modern Indian dwellings in different regions of Ecuador" examines the problems of housing construction in the landscape-geographical environment of Ecuador, where the traditional way of life of the tribal groups of Indians is still preserved. Much attention is paid to identifying patterns in the origin, formation and development of the architectural form of folk dwelling in the context of the ethnocultural territorial complex of Ecuador, the main socio-economic, demographic, climatic and historical factors influencing the development of traditional housing construction in Ecuador.

Creativity on Yauza

Research by Anastasia Boldyreva “Creative Archipelago. Development of Former Industrial Areas on the Yauza River”is dedicated to the revival of abandoned industrial areas through the sphere of the creative industry. A large concentration of former industrial areas is located along the Yauza River. The whole situation can be seen as a creative archipelago. The archipelago consists of islands and does not have a clear center, while each island separately is a center of gravity. The creative clusters of the common archipelago reinforce each other, increasing the potential of each territory and the overall structure as a whole. In the future, this can launch a mechanism for the renovation and development of adjacent territories, which will also be filled with life. All creative "islands" are connected by a river - a pedestrian embankment and water transport.

“The multi-layered nature of Nastya’s research may not be evident in the presentation of the project. This work is not only about the creative industry and the possibilities of post-industrial territories. This work is also about a new vision of social ties, about what a place in their context means for us. As part of the research, Nastya managed to weave these very important topics into a clear sentence, with a new one in and denomination of our city”.
Finding housing

In his work "Affordable rental housing in the city center" the author examines the problem of including in the center of Moscow specific types of rental housing with minimized living space and functions that work for the urban population. For the design, currently ineffective small territories were selected: areas located between two blind ends of houses, areas of a superstructure or an extension to an existing house, or arising as a result of the demolition of a building. During the study, the following five pilot projects were developed: "Rental housing for students", "Rental housing for young couples", "Rental housing for families with children", "Rental housing for single people", "Rental housing for friends".

“While working on her master's thesis, Tatiana showed her analytical skills and sincere interest in the topic. It is difficult to find a person who is so selflessly immersed in his project. She studied a huge amount of both theoretical material and all kinds of examples on this topic and formulated a number of important conclusions. The greatest strength of research is relevance. Despite the fact that rental housing is an important component of the real estate market, this typology has not been sufficiently studied, and Tanya was able to offer her vision of this topic. The result of a lot of work has resulted in a number of very well thought-out projects."

Irina Novichkova's work "Principles of Designing Preschool Educational Institutions in the Conditions of Dense Development of the Middle Zone of Moscow" is dedicated to the reconstruction of kindergarten buildings. Presnensky district of Moscow was selected as the territory for five pilot projects. A more effective use of existing territories in the structure of dense urban development, the creation of a flexible developing educational space with a sufficient number of premises for play and creative activities, with sports and playgrounds in the existing territories is proposed.

The work "Typology and localization of hotel complexes as an impulse in the social and tourist life of Armenia" develops a typology of small hotels near or in the structure of architectural monuments of Armenia. This typology, on the one hand, meets the needs of the modern tourism sector, where small hotels are becoming more and more in demand, on the other hand, it activates interest in monuments, many of which are currently in disrepair.
