From January 30 to February 4, the Moscow Architectural School was trained as part of the annual course "GRAPHISOFT Winter School". Architects of the leading Moscow bureaus shared their valuable experience in BIM-design in the ARCHICAD environment®.
Initially, the GRAPHISOFT Winter School project was developed for teachers of specialized universities as a refresher course according to the current version of ARCHICAD. But after the second "Winter School", when it became clear that users also have an interest in such a format of training, it was decided to make it publicly available, while preserving preferential places for teachers.
This year, the Winter School was held for the fourth time, and the number of applications was almost double the number of places planned. The geography of the audience has also significantly expanded: users from Veliky Novgorod, Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Samara, Simferopol, Togliatti, Odessa and Chisinau took part in the training.
The Winter School course this year turned out to be more intense than ever, many training modules were considered, including such important ones as visualization using the CineRender mechanism, organization of work in TEAMWORK, interaction with related disciplines through the IFC format and algorithmic design in RHINO. GRASSHOPPER. Thanks to the teachers, the participants were able to gain unique knowledge based on many years of practice.
An innovation in the program of the GRAPHISOFT Winter School-2017 was the final event, within which a unique exchange of experience took place: architects of the leading Moscow architectural bureaus demonstrated their best projects, spoke about the use of BIM technologies in working on these projects and answered questions from an impressed audience.
“We are certainly delighted with this interest in learning ARCHICAD. BIM technologies are constantly evolving, and we believe that modern specialists need to keep abreast of all innovations in order not only to optimize their work, but also to maintain a competitive edge in an ever-changing market. As software developers, we provide information on all the latest trends in both architectural design and BIM technologies, and the course teachers share their unique practical experience,”commented Maria Kalashnikova, specialist in educational programs at GRAPHISOFT.
Anton Lukomsky, Chief Architect of City-Arch company, course instructor:
“I introduced the audience of the Winter School to the block on energy efficiency and on the module for calculating energy modeling in ARCHICAD. I was glad to pass on my twelve years of experience, and I hope that it was useful to the participants, since creating a comfortable environment is one of the important issues to be solved when designing a modern building."
Ivan Kuznetsov, lecturer at UrSAHU, course participant:
“I chose ARCHICAD during my studies and for 17 years I have never regretted my choice. ARCHICAD allows you to work at all stages and gives designers great opportunities."
Maria Stepanova, architect, teacher at SSASU, course participant:
“I certainly liked the fact that the teachers generously shared the valuable experience and practical skills gained as a result of their many years of work.”
Egor Glebov, architect, managing partner of BORSH, course curator:
“One of the special interest of the participants of the course of educational blocks was the module on algorithmic design with practical work in the link Grasshopper - ARCHICAD Live Connection, considered in the field of practical application for solving the most complex problems, which in the modern context require a systematic approach with the ability to analyze the project as quickly as possible and flexibly influence the result. This year, as part of the course, we not only considered working with ARCHICAD, but also mastered an expanded interdisciplinary interaction with other software products, which made it possible to significantly expand the range of tools used, taking into account the life cycle of the product created by architects and in close cooperation with other participants in the design process.
After completing the course, students had the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the field of BIM-design in practice and significantly expand their tools."
GRAPHISOFT would like to thank the staff of the Moscow Architectural School (MARSH) and personally the director Nikita Tokarev for their help in organizing and holding the event.
MARSH is an independent Moscow architectural school that builds its activities on the original copyright programs of leading Russian and foreign architects and the use of international best practices in education. MARCH builds training for architects on immersion in the current social, cultural, economic and political context through the organization of interdisciplinary joint projects with the participation of representatives of various specialties. MARSH in the learning process uses innovative educational technologies, provides a variety of methods and concepts in design.
