Residential complex “Russia. Five capitals "Sergey Oreshkin designed for Voronezh. It occupies the western section of the new Troitsky residential area, named after the architect Nikolai Troitsky, who led the reconstruction of Voronezh after the war. The place for the new district with a binding "architectural" name has been chosen a good one - practically between the forest park of the Research Institute of Biotechnology and the Botanical Garden of Voronezh University, surrounded by greenery and at the same time not far - about 10 minutes drive - from the city center. The total area of Troitskoye is 29 hectares, its middle is occupied by the large residential area Olimpiyskiy, consisting of almost completed 18-storey buildings with restrained, but uncomplicated and rather stereotypical architecture. The western and eastern parts of the territory are occupied by two complexes designed by the St. Petersburg bureau "A. Len" by Sergei Oreshkin: the residential complex "Avangard" is located in the eastern part, and the residential complex "Avangard" is located in the western part, on a narrow section in the form of a rectangular triangle, adjacent with a long leg to Zagorovskogo Street - the residential complex " Russia. Five capitals ". The acute angle of the triangle goes to the north into the thickets of the arboretum, and the small leg adjoins a wide highway - Shishkov Street, which makes a smooth 90-degree turn here.

Five 25-storey towers, which gave the name to the complex, were the customer's idea. Sergey Oreshkin proposed to combine them with a common L-shaped stylobate. Moreover, in the eastern part, stretched along the relatively quiet Zagorovskogo Street, the wake-shaped towers alternate with six-storey buildings that form a front of the development of a comfortable "urban" scale along the street (unfortunately not supported by neighboring microdistricts, but nevertheless valuable). The stylobate of the small leg is two-storied; it carries only two towers, advanced forward on the thin supports of discrete galleries. From this side, the complex is permeable, as if it opens the doors of giant "blinds", letting in a stream of fresh forest air from the park to the center of Voronezh. Or vice versa: effectively designates itself in the city with a pair of giant "propyls".

The northernmost tower - the sharp nose of building No. 9 directed towards the arboretum - is slightly shifted from the main wake to the east, opening views of the forest to the towers of the central part. For the same purpose - capturing panoramas - the towers acquired a slightly spindle-shaped outline: their walls are sloped, and the loggias facing the view perspectives form a cascade of steps, and the ones located further are more advanced.

The second "view segment" of the complex is the southern one, from this side it receives panoramas of the city and is also arranged in a cascade. “This is a pretty interesting place. Here the site opens onto a gigantic visual space. Shishkov Street turns there - a major highway that goes down all the time. A rather wide space between the buildings opens up, and the fascinating bend of the road stretching into the distance is fully visible,”says Sergei Oreshkin.

The customer did not insist on the idea of painting each tower in its own color, so that the coloristic solution of the facades was made integral: in a gray-black scale with bright inserts of greenery - it turned out almost a metaphor of the famous local black soil, through which fresh sprouts make their way. Black predominates on the long outer eastern wall, while in the courtyard it is half white and half green, but the colors are mixed: for example, the outer parts of the towers smoothly “whiten”, optically making their silhouette more slender. But the smoothness is relative, pixel - black and white frames of loggias alternate at first, superimposing on each other in a checkerboard pattern, but white wins with each next "step" leading out. The green ends of the loggias also come into play, at first only "flashing", and then, in the long term, merging into spots of positive spring colors.

“The towers grow out of the multi-storey podium like stalagmites: the material of the lower part passes into the upper part, and then the upper part begins to“pixelate”, - this is how the head of A. Len, Sergey Oreshkin, describes the image of the building.

A long pull of the green visor over the entire stylobate along Zagorovskogo Street underlines - separates the transparent glass base from the beginning of the growth of the black-white-green mass of the house. It separates it for a reason: here, in the glass part, in addition to retail, there are offices - in the basement and the first, and for the two southern towers also on the second floor. The glass is planned well, no rough joints, and the workspaces will be well lit.

Landscaping is planned to be very eventful. There are many functional zones; landscape elements that closely follow each other are compared by Sergei Oreshkin to the carriages of a steam locomotive. At the same time, the yard, if we take into account the size of the residential complex and the number of residents, is small. It will be impenetrable to outsiders.

On the territory there will be a sports ground for playing volleyball and basketball, a piazza with a fountain, flower beds and lawns, an area for events, three different children's play areas, recreation areas for adults, wooden pavilions, gazebos, an amphitheater with greenery, a fruit alley along the entrances in the lobbies and high, five-meter thujas on the border of the courtyard, which visually separate the territory of the new residential complex from the already existing low-expressive buildings. Ground parking spaces will be drawn at the same “turn”, although there will be underground parking in the residential complex.

The principle of the arrangement of apartments of different sizes resembles a layer cake: the most spacious housing is located in the lower part of the complex and on the upper floors of the towers, while the main, middle part of the volume is occupied by studios, two- and three-room apartments. For the tenants of the top floor, individual exits to the roof have been designed, on which terraces will be arranged. All the elevator shafts and staircases are moved to the western facade, since it is he who overlooks the not very expressive old microdistrict.

Each tower symbolizes one of the five Russian "capitals": in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, it is also Sochi as the capital of the Olympics, Yalta as the capital of Crimea and Voronezh as the capital of the Black Earth Region. The spacious entrance lobbies and elevator lobbies of each tower will be designed according to which of the five cities it represents.

Even a cursory glance at the bulk of Voronezh new buildings is enough to notice their monotony. "Russia. Five capitals "stands out against this background not only with bright facades. The A. Len bureau has designed a residential complex, which, thanks to a careful approach to the organization of public space, forms a qualitatively different environment in the city.
