Hangzhou Gateway office building - "Hangzhou Gate" - a paraphrase on the powerful city gate: these structures can still be seen in many old Chinese cities. In this case, the building "leads" from one zone of the new development to another. In addition to embodying this image, the opening in its center is an attempt to create a pedestrian-friendly space. Instead of the usual monolith of an office building, the architects designed a permeable structure: an arch connects two public spaces created at the longitudinal facades of the Hangzhou Gateway.
The mirror image of this arch is located at the top: it is no longer an ancient gate, but a typical agricultural landscape for China - a valley with terraced rice fields. The greenery outside the window should improve the quality of the work environment and thus the productivity of the Hakim Unique Internet employees. It also retains rainwater and cools facades.
The building has two structural "rods". On its 16 floors (total area 23,600 m2), in addition to offices, shops, restaurants and a post office are located. The budget was 22 million euros.
