The educational building with a total area of 5,000 m2 is built into the existing "educational environment", not only of the college itself, but also of the campus of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where the new building is located.
The simple volume of the five-story building also allowed it to fit into the architectural situation of the university campus, where buildings tend to be more utilitarian. In Reyulf Ramstad's interpretation, this utilitarianism, however, acquired both an elegant and an industrial touch, thanks in part to the use of wood and concrete, which define the appearance of the building outside and in the interior. Separate mention should be made of the corridors-passages connecting the building with neighboring structures, where the trusses are connected with a metal mesh.
Layout and orientation allow for future expansion of the enclosure. The vertical circulation node also acts as a meeting point between students, teachers and other users of the building. The first tier is occupied by workshops and laboratories, seminars and auditoriums occupy the second, third and fourth, and the administrative premises occupy the fifth floor.
