DORMA offers innovative solutions in the design, manufacture and installation of translucent facades and atriums, all-glass fittings systems, glass interior doors and horizontal sliding partitions.

The most famous Moscow project, in the architectural image of which DORMA technologies played a significant role, is the Hermitage Plaza business center, designed by the Sergei Kiselev & Partners workshop and receiving many awards in the field of architecture and commercial real estate. A few weeks ago, this object was awarded another prize - "Glass in Architecture".

The structural glazing of this complex remains one of the most spectacular, delicate and flawless examples of glass use in Moscow. The complex consists of an extended 8-storey and a compact 4-storey volume, standing on a two-level stylobate. From the courtyard, the business center borders on the Osterman-Tolstoy estate and the facades of the 4-storey building facing it are quite unusual: they are made up of horizontal strips of cold-thread glass, inclined towards the sky like scales. Reflections of the light-air environment dissolve the facade and make its presence near the monument almost ephemeral. Slanted glass panels also help to avoid the office aquarium effect: behind them, employees are completely invisible.

A hinged inclined glass fence is also used in the 8-storey building: its metal frame is spaced from the main wall at a distance of 60 to 120 millimeters. The tilt of the glass "blinds" shielding the contents of the building transforms it into a reflection of the sky and running clouds. The standard ventilated façade has been transformed into an instrument of new imagery using DORMA RODAN technology. RODAN point fixings provide the necessary mobility in relation to the rigid supporting structure, allowing the glass to deform naturally and thus avoid the formation of stress peaks. RODAN technology allows you to safely use even large and heavy glass panels, facades with 2D or 3D curves.

Another well-known modern building, the architectural image of which was embodied using DORMA technologies it is the famous Benois office center in St. Petersburg, built by Sergei Tchoban in 2006. The façade of this building is bright and picturesquely ornamental: prints reproducing theatrical sketches by Alexander Benois are arranged in a shamatite order on the glass surface.

The business center Nevsky, 104, designed by the studio of Mikhail Mamoshin, combines elements of classical architecture: walls and columns of Italian granite, with modern structural glazing. In the entrance area, open to Nevsky Prospekt, a large stained-glass window attracts attention: here the LOOP glazing system, which has not yet received widespread use in Russia, is used. Its main advantage is the ability to create a heat-insulating facade without resorting to drilling double-glazed windows, which significantly improves thermal insulation in the Russian climate.

A glass screen covering the entire height of the building is a visiting card of another St. Petersburg business center, in the implementation of which DORMA fittings - Aeroplaza, located not far from Pulkovo II airport, were used. The 8-storey circular building is completely glazed - the DORMA RODAN system, as in the Hermitage Plaza, made it possible to achieve excellent quality on curved surfaces.

DORMA glass fixing systems can be used not only to create a spectacular façade, but also to transform an interior space into a respectable-expensive, or even glamorous-futuristic: this is exactly what the architects of the AB group managed to do in the interiors of the Moscow Novinsky Passage. The walls in the reception area are covered with frosted tempered glass with blue and yellow neon lights behind them. The glass panels are secured with the elegant MANET Concept point fixings, which are ideal for 8, 10 and 12 mm glass structures, as well as for transoms and side panels in 10 and 12 mm thicknesses.

To create comfortable, effective and, most importantly, mobile transformable interiors, DORMA has developed movable sound and heat insulating partition walls. Such systems are used in one of the best modern exhibition spaces Crocus Expo IEC. Hall No. 20 consists of three blocks of 1800 sq. M. meters, each of which, in turn, is divided into 12 zones of 150 sq. meters. A unique space transformation system using automatic sound-insulating partitions MOVEO ComfortDrive allows you to quickly and easily build rooms of various configurations and sizes, from 3 to 36, inside hall No. 20. The MOVEO ComfortDrive partition is automatically assembled, disassembled and placed in preset positions - just a push of a button.

Another version of Dorma partitions - glass, completely transparent and at the same time soundproofing MOVEO Glass - were used to organize meeting rooms in the Renaissance Capital office located in the tower on the embankment in MIBC Moscow City. Thanks to the transparency of the partitions, the space is permeated with light, and the surroundings open up mesmerizing views of the city.

At the Mozart House in Salzburg, transparent HSV-ISO insulating partitions form a glass wall in front of a large terrace overlooking the city; in warm weather, the partitions can be pulled apart.
