The customer of the project is the German company Durr Dental with a 75-year history, which specializes in developments for the dental industry. Its new headquarters are located where it all began: in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart. The three-storey building has a total area of 7500 sq. m. On the lower level, there are production facilities and warehouses for storing products. The second floor is occupied by other departments, where, in addition to offices and several conference rooms, there is a spacious corporate restaurant with a cozy sun terrace and a fitness room.
This roof garden is 900 sq. m is the most popular vacation spot for 400 employees of the company. Professional roof landscaping allowed to combine in one object an abundance of perennials, shrubs and fruit trees. Seasonal flowering plants provide visual diversity throughout the year. The design was complemented by fountains and decorative fences made of natural stone.
High-quality greening of the roof is ensured by the installation of a roofing cake with an anti-root barrier, drainage and storage elements, a filter, and a nutritious substrate on the entire surface of the roofing cake. The evaporation of moisture from plants creates a comfortable atmosphere and cools the environment. Storm runoff is trapped directly on this roof, as well as on the extensive green roof above the building. This relieves the urban stormwater system and eliminates the risk of flooding the complex during prolonged rains.
