The architecture drawing competition has been held at the Moscow Architectural Institute for the third year, but if in previous years the participants were given complete freedom in choosing the execution technique and subject matter, this year a clearer framework was defined - a short and effective sketch drawing.
The best works of the participants of the competition can be seen at the exhibition "Architectural Sketches", which takes place in the VKHUTEMAS gallery from 10 to 30 May.
The exhibition brings together the works of teachers of the department "Drawing" of Moscow Architectural Institute and students. The theme of architectural sketches was chosen for the exhibition, as one of the most important for architects. Sketching is a fairly broad concept, but in the context of the exhibition, we would like to draw attention to the importance of drawing, primarily as a graphic way of quickly fixing the environment, searching and thinking. In this case, drawing is considered not only as an aesthetic value in itself, but also as an architect's working tool, the organizers emphasize.
Speaking about student works, one cannot fail to note their high quality, which in many respects is not inferior to the works of teachers.
