On November 30, 2013 in the Peter and Paul Fortress of St. Petersburg, in the hall of the Pro Arte Foundation, the Architectural Conference “Arch-Meeting” was held, dedicated to the theme “New Areas - a New Function”. The participants were asked to answer the question of what the future of the new regions of Russian megalopolises, constantly expanding their borders, should be like. The answers were sounded both verbally and graphically - in the form of a clause.

The genre of hand-drawn clause has become traditional for Arch-Meetings, and it was he who pushed the activists of the annual conference to the idea of creating a new, completely hand-drawn magazine. The first issue has already been published, it was presented at the "Arch-Meeting". The magazine will be annual.

The magazine will be published by the FUTURA Architects architectural studio (headed by Oleg Manov), hence its name - Futura. This is the first time that the SPEECH bureau has repeated the experience of publishing its own magazine. Anastasia Larina became the editor-in-chief of the magazine, and a number of architects, art historians and graphic designers are working on the design.

Futura publishes projects of architectural bureaus from Russia and neighboring countries. The magazine consists of several sections devoted to various aspects of the development of modern architecture. One of the sections of the magazine is devoted to architectural festivals, competitions and exhibitions. Another part of the publication covers the work of young architectural groups. In the final part of the first issue, in the section "The Hand of a Master", there are published drawings by Sergei Tchoban, specially provided by him

Foundation for Architectural Drawing.
