300 meters from the Russian National Pavilion in the Giardini Garden, in the Park delle Rimembranze as part of the Venice Architecture Biennale, a virtual pavilion will operate, where May 25 at 18:00 the opening of an exhibition entitled “Free the Space” will take place. This exhibition is a response to the theme of this year's biennale - Freespace - and is a critical manifesto of the independent and open space of the Russian pavilion. The groups Pekka Airaksin, Elena Viskovich, Karina Golubenko, Vladimir Goncharov, Liza Dorrer, Anton Kalgaev, Maria Kachalova, Maria Kosareva, Ivan Kuryachiy, Valtteri Osara took part in the creation of the exhibition “Free the Space”.
The pavilion is conceived as a platform for regular exhibitions in the format of virtual and augmented reality. In the future, it is planned to choose the concepts and participants of the exhibitions on the basis of an international competition, the first such exposition will take place in 2020, during the next architectural biennale. The public activity of the virtual pavilion also presupposes the organization of discussions and research projects.
A virtual pavilion was created at the initiative of an independent group
