Like many other universities, the Kaliningrad State Technical University has educational buildings and dormitories scattered throughout the city. In the southern part of the city center, in the quarter with the Marine Fisheries College, there is an opportunity to build a sports complex that is so necessary for the university - a separate building for the Department of Physical Education.
The cramped area, where, moreover, the city heating point is located, demanded a rational layout of the halls. Sports and fitness complexes are planned. The training complex "Virtual Ship" is located in a reconstructed and superstructured building with a heating point.
The plot dictates the length of the building. The architects used this: they placed the main entrance with the communication core in the center of the longitudinal facade, thus minimizing the length of the corridors. The sports complex has a 25-meter swimming pool with a diving platform of 7.5 m: previously, students did not have the opportunity to practice jumping. The project also includes halls for wrestling, boxing, and a recovery center on the ground floor. On the second floor there is a multifunctional convertible hall and a gym. On the third and fourth floors - the premises of the department of physical culture, coaching.
