The new building with a total area of 22,000 m2 accommodates 500 employees: previously they were located in four locations in Lausanne, including the location of the new "Olympic House" - the shores of Lake Geneva next to the Vidi castle. On the site of the two administrative buildings of the International Olympic Committee, the 3XN building appeared. During the construction, the remains of the port of the Gallo-Roman city of Lauzonium (Lousonne) were discovered: it was founded here, by the water, and only later Lausanne spread up the slope. Another historical aspect of the project is the restoration of the small Chateau Vidi castle, also occupied by the IOC (850 m2).
The Olympic House has received a relatively modest look so as not to stand out in the natural landscape of the Louis Bourget Park, while its dynamic shape is inspired by the movement of an athlete. The profiles on the façade protect the interior from the sun, while the three-layer glazing lets in enough light, but at the same time provides the interior with the necessary insulation. Inside, the main role is played by the atrium with the "Staircase of Unity" made of oak wood, reminiscent of the Olympic rings. The program includes a conference center, meeting rooms, exhibition facilities, a cafeteria (centered around the atrium), a gymnasium, three floors of offices, a rooftop terrace and underground parking (203 cars, 25 motorcycles).
No less important than the appearance of the building is the "green" component of the project. Its authors claim that the Olympic House is one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the world. It received LEED platinum (93 points on the fourth version of this rating system, which is still a world record), and two Swiss certificates - Platinum SNBS (the second building in history to receive such a high rating) and Minergie P (it means that the building uses 35% less energy than a typical new building for the country - the same function and dimensions).
The most interesting thing about the project is that during the dismantling of two IOC buildings on the site of the future "House", more than 95% of their materials were used again: as is or after processing. In particular, all the concrete was used for the surrounding waterproof wall, for the basement perimeter walls and for the stylobate.

Among the eco-components of the new building are a heating and cooling system using a heat pump and water from Lake Geneva, greening the roof (2500 m2) and placing solar panels there (1000 m2; they generate the same amount of electricity as 60 average Swiss families need; it is used for the life support system of the Olympic House).
The collected rainwater cannot be directed into the soil, since it is already saturated with moisture due to the proximity of the shore: it is collected in a 300 m3 reservoir and then used for watering the garden, flushing toilets, and washing cars. As a result, up to 60% of drinking water from the city water supply system is saved. Lamps are LED, energy consumption is monitored by sensors, generous natural light saves electricity. Another aspect is the adaptability of the project: the entire interior can be differently divided into individual offices and meeting rooms; modular grid (2.7 m) covers the façade, floors and ceilings.
