These are Zaha Hadid and the Dutch bureaus RAU and Nötelings Riedijk. Their works were already presented to the public in the spring among 16 participants in the competition - after the presentation, a period of consideration by the selection committee and the townspeople passed, and the opinion of the residents was one of the key criteria for the decision of the jury. Another important factor was the influence of the new building on the relationship of the central square of Spøy, where it will be located, with the rest of the city.
The dynamics of this relationship was reflected in all the projects that reached the final, and the architects had a difficult task - not only to fit their building into the existing landscape, but also to make it no less interesting than the Dutch Dance Theater, which is now in its place and intended for demolition - one from the early buildings of Rem Koolhaas (he also participated in the new competition, but did not make it to the final).
The new "cultural forum" will house the same Dutch dance theater, the Royal Conservatory, the Hague Philharmonic and the Stichting Gastprogrammering foundation. The construction of the new complex will help The Hague receive the coveted title of European Capital of Culture 2018.
