In support of the Public Movement "No fires", the association of manufacturers of modern mineral insulation ROSIZOL, of which ROCKWOOL is a member, has published a new video that clearly demonstrates the reaction of ordinary people in a critical situation - when a fire breaks out. The key task of the video is to draw public attention to the problem of fire safety in buildings, which is still relevant.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in 2018 the total number of fires was 132 thousand. Almost 8 thousand Russians became their victims, and about 10 thousand more were injured. A fire is an uncontrolled combustion process that can happen absolutely anywhere and at any time.

The video, prepared by the authoritative European organization Fire Safe Europe and published by the ROSIZOL association with Russian-language subtitles on the official YouTube channel of the public movement "Fires NO", demonstrates the real reaction of people to the emergence of a critical situation. According to the idea of the experiment, the two teams participating in the game in the format of an exciting quest must get out of the room in which they are located. Only that a fire would suddenly start in the building, no one warned the heroes. As a result of the experiment, one of the teams was unable to get out in time. It was just a game and only similar to real conditions of a fire in a building, for example, smoke and low visibility. Unfortunately, everything in life can turn out to be much more tragic.

There are two categories of building fire safety measures: active and passive. The purpose of active measures is to protect against fire and to ensure timely and safe evacuation if a fire has already begun. In turn, passive measures - for example, the use of thermal insulation made of materials that can restrain the spread of fire and do not emit toxic substances during combustion, are designed to minimize the likelihood of a fire and should be used in the design and construction of a building.

Ensuring fire safety in buildings is one of the most important issues in the construction industry. The use of fire-safe materials by participants in the construction process, such as stone wool, which can withstand temperatures above 1000 degrees Celsius, helps protect the building from fire penetration and increase the time for safe evacuation of people.

As a manufacturer of solutions from non-combustible stone wool and a member of the ROSIZOL association, ROCKWOOL has supported the public movement "NO Fires" since its inception and initiates actions to draw public attention to the problem of fire safety in buildings. In particular, the company is holding an action "Test the insulation for flammability", in which any citizen or legal entity registered in our country living in the territory of the Russian Federation can participate. If there is any doubt about the incombustibility of thermal insulation used at a construction site or at the stage of choosing a safe insulation, the specialists of the ROCKWOOL company will help to determine the flammability group of the material by sending it for testing to an accredited laboratory.
