On September 23, the Konkurator company released its annual study "BIM APPLICATION IN RUSSIA" for 2019. One of the important indicators of market development was the expansion of the range of software used for BIM-design.
The annual research is organized by the consulting company "Konkurator" and implemented in cooperation with the national research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU).
The main goal of the study was to determine the level of application of information modeling technologies by Russian companies, that is, the average share of enterprises in the investment and construction sector using BIM technologies and tools, regardless of the depth and experience of use.
One of the most interesting indicators was the level of BIM use in relation to 2017 - it has not changed and is still 22%. However, 60% of companies participating in the online survey plan to switch to BIM in the next five years.
“We, as a software developer, are constantly working to ensure that the main obstacles to the transition to BIM are overcome, and this transition is efficient and easy. - noted the technical director of GRAPHISOFT (Russia) Nikolay Zemlyansky. - An important factor in improving the conditions for the transition to BIM is the optimization of the functionality of existing solutions and the emergence of new software products with a unique set of BIM tools. Thus, users have a choice to solve their unique problems and reduce risks in the design and construction process. "
The survey participants were asked about the range of software used in their projects. The most popular software products are Autodesk Revit, ARCHICAD and Tekla Structures.

“We were delighted to note that ARCHICAD has consistently maintained its position as one of the leading BIM design solutions. - the head of the GRAPHISOFT representative office in Russia, Yegor Kudrikov, commented on the results of the survey. - At the same time, the appearance of new BIM vendors in the survey results indicates that our market is confidently moving towards an open approach to design, and customers continue to expand their capabilities using software that is optimal for the chosen design section. "
One of the first Russian projects in which a full-fledged OPEN BIM approach was used was the Irina Viner-Usmanova Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, designed by the Russian Bureau Pride in collaboration with the chief architect of Moscow, Sergei Kuznetsov.
The chief architect of the capital says: “The architectural part of the project was completely done in ARCHICAD. This allowed us to avoid multiple adjustments, since all sections were perfectly synchronized. The Rhythmic Gymnastics Center is an excellent example of how advanced software allows a large team of specialists to work effectively, to quickly move from the first sketch to a full-fledged model. "
The project was recognized as the winner of the all-Russian competition "BIM Technologies 2016" and in 2019 it became a symbol of the new version of ARCHICAD.
OPEN BIM is a modern approach to the organization of interdisciplinary interaction of all representatives of the AIS industry. The OPEN BIM community is open for cooperation with all software manufacturers, project organizations (designers, engineers and constructors), as well as with developers.
The number of community members is constantly growing. The list of companies supporting an open approach to design includes leading developers around the world.
