The route request on the Yandex map neatly showed that it would take one day and 19 minutes to get from Moscow to Solikamsk. The city is located in the Perm Territory, on the Usolka River at its confluence with the Kama, and it grew up in the 17th century on the salt industry, and at the end of this century, as well as later, many stone temples and houses appeared in it, good architecture, worthy of attention of tourists, now there are at least 23 monuments of federal significance. The city is a real tourist center, it is a pity that it is located not close to the capitals. The Perm Territory is among the winners of the Ministry of Construction competition for the second time: in 2018 there were no winners from here, in 2019 they chose a project for Chusovoy, and now two cities won: Solikamsk, in the largest category of cities with a population of 50,000 - 100,000 people, it will receive 90 million rubles for the implementation of the project, and Gubakha, from cities with a population of 20,000 - 50,000 people, she will receive 70 million, - RBC reports.

So, Solikamsk. A city with excellent monuments of architecture and a museum of salt production, but so far it cannot be said that modern trends in landscaping have touched it. That is, in general, everything is not bad, the streets are asphalted, there are several squares in the center, but all of them are quite pragmatic and laconic. The Kama is far from the city center, only railway branches approach it, and the town-forming narrow river Usolka has no embankments and, in principle, has not been mastered by the city. Bushes, private gardens and the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross of the 18th century, which have grown into the ground, overlook the river.

Advice from the author of the project to future fellow participants:

“It is important to take into account the opinion of residents, to include an architectural fantasy only according to the terms of reference of the residents, nothing superfluous. It is important to emphasize the history of the place, try to dive deeply into it and identify important points and already implement them in architecture. It is important to think over the infrastructure of the project, how everything will be operated in the future, and pay attention to details. They are not afraid of new things, to experiment!"

The project, which won the competition of the Ministry of Construction, proposes to organize around the center, including along the river, a pedestrian route a mile long.

In Old Russian measures, the length of a verst varied from about a kilometer to two, - in this case, the route will be drawn in a loop along the left bank of the river from Karl Liebknecht Street in the south-west to the Botanical Garden in the north-east, in total, a little more than 4 km of looped walking and the bike path. According to the author, the route foresees "the creation of multiple approaches from the existing streets" and, thus, activates the riverine zone in the historic center of the city.

It is planned to restore and revitalize the stadium, which is on the route, as well as many functions: an ethno-park, a children's salt plant, a sports zone, "Terrikons", Lyudmilinskaya well, "Park of city-forming enterprises".

The embankment is designed as a pedestrian path and does not touch the water, which, hopefully, will exclude the emergence of anything similar to the Vologda problem. In contrast, a stone footpath meets wooden piers that link it to the water.

One of the thematic zones, a large children's playground "Children's Salt Factory" is reconstructing an old Russian city with wooden towers.

I must say that the project, which is modern in general, has a certain degree of adherence to the theme of historical reconstructions, which gives it a somewhat fair character, which, incidentally, may be good for the development of tourism: for example, a water wheel with blades is provided on the pier in front of the Epiphany Church, and the square is surrounded by wooden huts and salt barns. On another pier, we see a performance dedicated to the main local craft - a salt well. There are "a log for a pillow fight" and other rare devices, which will undoubtedly make the route attractive both in terms of tourism and for organizing thematic holidays.
