Instagram is the platform where it is customary to share successes and show all the best. It is assumed that under conditions of quarantine, the content of the content changes - many external processes have slowed down or ended, leaving room for reflection, search and formulation. After walking around the accounts of different bureaus, we tried to make a snapshot of what is happening with Russian bureaus: how they adapt to new conditions and what points of growth they find. Someone continues to finish building objects, someone has to be content with concepts, but the overall picture is optimistic: the creative process is unstoppable, and architecture reacts to life instantly.
TPO Reserve
Portfolio of different years, types of construction of the Zaryadye concert hall, patterns of fragments and studio works. The freshest post (March) - with the newest object of the bureau, which must now be known by the whole country - the hospital in Kommunarka. Ilya Ivanov's photographs show the hottest Covid-19 point in Moscow.
Studio-44
An exemplary account, which on ordinary days introduced readers not only to projects, but also to the everyday life of the wooden office opposite the Transfiguration Cathedral, generously shared visual materials and even an exclusive: only here you could see photos of the interiors of the Alexander Palace, which is being prepared for opening after restoration … In recent days, a lot of graphics have appeared - the bureau team has fun drawing an architectural alphabet.
Ostozhenka
The studio had to intensively immerse itself in the online space, accompanying the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the bureau. The profile partially duplicated virtual events of various formats - from excursions to lectures, and now the architects remind of the basic principles of forming a living environment.
Humor is also a useful thing for architects in quarantine:
SPEECH
The Instagram of a large-scale Moscow company continues to delight with professional photographs of objects and interiors, to which short videos have now been added: you can climb with the architects to the roof of a skyscraper or view the building from the height of a quadcopter flight. If you delve into the content of the recent past, you can find comparisons of sketches and realizations, drawings by Sergei Tchoban, the most photographic and cinematic buildings of the bureau. SPEECH collaborates with many architectural photographers, so viewing a profile is an opportunity to meet professionals in this field as well.
Sergey Kuznetsov
25 thousand subscribers watch how the chief architect of Moscow draws. Sergey Kuznetsov has been mastering watercolor for the last five years, and the account is mainly devoted to it. The narrowness of the format is deceiving: using watercolors, you can draw both the construction of the metro and nudity, and through the published works, the reader learns about what inspires the architect, where he travels and what he values. In quarantine, Sergey Kuznetsova conducts live broadcasts, answers questions, talks about his favorite materials and techniques.
UNK project
The Bureau launched a series of comments on the topic "Impact of the pandemic on the market." According to one of the heads of the UNK project, Yulia Tryaskina, retail has already recovered from the initial quarantine shock. The trend towards an increase in the leisure component of the mall, says Yulia, will intensify after the pandemic, and stores, on the contrary, have a chance to reduce sales areas and reorganize to delivery and pick-up points: "Most likely, such sites will be located within walking distance in residential areas, which will provide versatility of return and delivery. I think this is already the near future."
Stepan Lipgart
Another drawing architect, whose imaginary cities have become surprisingly in tune with today's mood and deserted attractions. New posts rarely appear, but old ones can be looked at for hours.
Yulia Bychkova
A similar prediction: the producer of Archstoyania in the residence la cité des arts, tired of tourists, got up at 4 am taking pictures of Paris, "enjoying a silent dialogue with an empty and beautiful city." Now Julia has launched the ART FOR LIFE project: a series of live broadcasts about life and work in isolation with famous artists who will give an object of contemporary art for a question in the comments.
Megaboo
The bureau, known for its ingenious projects, came up with a house for self-isolation, edited a 9-minute video about the trip on the ArchParokhod and prepared to design something for life in permafrost conditions.
CitizenStudio
It is good to look at the profile of the bureau from a computer, then all patterns and structure are visible: three posts are devoted to each project, and a whole "canvas" is devoted to the most important ones.
Recent works: visualization of an observation post in the spirit of new loneliness and a memorial with floating stones for Sobibor.
Orchestra
The cozy Orchestra Instagram, which has repeatedly won the Small Towns competition and was among the eight finalists of the Tuchkov Buyan competition, talks about mental maps and ways to show the city's identity, share useful online resources - from modern choreography to virtual museum tours. A distinctive feature of the account: architects tell stories about their projects and research in Yuzha, Yelabuga, Dyurtyuli and Frumanov.
Kosmos
Here they recall projects from the times when it did not seem strange to get together. For example, a pavilion built during the workshop, in which the stands are combined with a bar and a field kitchen. The students collected materials from country houses that are being demolished: the sun on the upper tier is, for example, a trampoline. The account contains many other works of various scales, bordering on art objects: from a periscope and a carpet dedicated to environmental threats to an air pavilion at the Prague Quadrennial.
Spirin Architects
Quarantine is a good time for contests. Spirin Architects are sending the "Golden Trezzini" to the public spaces section of the interior of the bookstore. The jury this year is outstanding: in addition to the consuls and directors of museums from the Hermitage to the Solomon Guggenheim Foundation, projects will be considered by Daniel Libeskind, Toyo Ito, Massimiliano Fuksas and a hundred more experts.
