On September 4, 2020, at the initiative of the media production agency TBD Media Group and the United Nations, REHAU was included in the "50 leaders in sustainable development and climate" association. This event was the result of many years of work on the design, creation and processing of REHAU products, as well as the implementation of these processes in practice.
The 50 Leaders in Sustainable Development and Climate Campaign encourages people to think about the fact that the natural resources of our planet are limited and that people, including construction companies, should use them rationally. The goal of the community is to raise public awareness and provide participating companies with a platform where they can demonstrate their commitment to an international audience.
By 2025, REHAU plans to increase its recycling rate to over 15% while reducing CO2 emissions by at least 30%. “We believe in sustainable development as a philosophy that is reflected in three core values: trust, reliability and innovation. We want to develop promising technologies to improve people's lives,”says Veit Wagner, Member of the Supervisory Board of REHAU. In addition to producing durable polymer system solutions, REHAU pays particular attention to high-quality processing.
REHAU produces quality products from recycled materials in all areas of its activity: in the furniture, construction and automotive industries. “We are constantly working with all of our business units to assess our sustainability strategy and continue to develop it,” confirms William Christensen, CEO of the REHAU Group.
