Today at 9 am the doors of the Center opened for the first time to the general public, while the official event with the presence of politicians, business representatives and cultural figures will take place on Tuesday evening.

The collection, consisting of 4,000 works by Klee (1879-1940), is housed in an elegant building, which the architect himself likens to "landscape sculpture". Three "hills" are precisely inscribed in the surrounding landscape, almost disappearing into wheat fields, meadows and forests. The nearby highway is hidden by an earthen embankment, which was envisaged by the museum's project.

The first, largest, "hill" of glass and steel houses the lobby, auditorium and educational center. On average - halls of permanent exposition and temporary exhibitions. The smaller is the research center and administration offices.

The galleries, which will simultaneously exhibit 200 paintings by the artist (they are planned to be constantly rotated), are a bright room under a curved roof, reminiscent of the projects of Pierre Luigi Nervi. Its 1700 sq. m of area is divided into smaller spaces by a maze of enclosures that can be easily moved depending on the wishes of the curator. The rooms are cool (due to natural ventilation) and softly lit.

The project of the complex, worth 110 million Swiss francs, was preliminary approved by local residents: in a referendum, 83% were in favor of building a museum.
