The construction will be located on the territory of the already existing administrative and production complex "Roche" in the Wettstein district on the banks of the Rhine. Now it is being reconstructed, in particular, at the beginning of 2005 the project of the laboratory building was presented, also developed by "Herzog & de Meuron". Now we are talking about an administrative building for 2,400 employees, who now work in several office complexes scattered throughout Basel. At 160 m (45 floors), it will be the highest in Switzerland. Its cost is 350 million euros.
Outwardly, the tower resembles a smooth spiral. Each floor is slightly different in its plan from the previous one, as a result, the building seems to twist around a structural core square in cross-section. Thanks to two wide openings in each floor, the structure includes the presence of air shafts throughout the entire height of the building.
