Petr Kudryavtsev, editor-in-chief of ARX magazine, the initiator of the award, spoke to the press; Sergey Bobkov, President of Vedis Group, who judged architecture from a development perspective, Sergey Skuratov, who chose the best developer from an architect’s perspective, and Vinka Dubbldam (head of the Archi-Tectonics studio in New York), who chose the best experimental project.
All the participants in the press conference were brilliant, all sincerely and ardently supported the new award, expressing the hope that it would contribute to the development of relations between developers and good architects in Russia. When asked about the principles of refereeing, Sergei Skuratov said that he was trying to find a developer who is ready to take on not only an architecturally high-quality, but also a bold, "crazy" project. Delightful Vinka, whose lecture was held yesterday (November 8) at Udarnik, said that in addition to originality, she also paid attention to the features of the identity of the works of Russian architects, although she undoubtedly recognizes them as included in global architectural searches.
The ARX week will host three more lectures by foreign architects - Werner Sobek, Adrian Geise and Chris Wilkinson, and the results of the selection of experts - one winner in each nomination - will be announced tomorrow night. The Architectural News Agency will follow the developments.
