Most of the works of this workshop resemble, if not starships, then aliens (like, for example, the new National Library of the Czech Republic). The case of a country house in Kent County was no exception.
In the famous for its picturesque area near the village of Elmstone, on a small hill, construction of a one-story villa will begin this year, in terms of resembling a peanut shell. The construction is planned for four bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen. A steel frame supports the solid double glazing of its walls and a flat roof of plywood and metal. Such a solution will not only allow owners to fully enjoy the landscape of the south-east of England, but also cause minimal damage to the latter.
Moreover, we are talking not only about visual harm, but also potential environmental pollution: the house will be heated using a pump that uses the heat of the soil, and a large glazing surface will be heated in winter from sunlight and thereby increase the temperature inside the room. At the same time, the edge of the roof overhanging the walls, reaching a width of 2 m on the south side, will prevent overheating in the warm season. The green elements of the project also include a rainwater collection system on the roof, which directs it to the bathrooms and watering the garden.
