This is the first victory for this workshop, formed by the British Bureau Building Design Partnership and the Bureau Groupe 6 from France, to jointly implement projects in the health sector outside the two countries.

The project of the All-Ukrainian Center for Mother and Child Health - Children's Hospital of the Future is unusual for Ukraine both in its size (useful area - 53,000 sq. M, capacity - 250 beds), and active use of the achievements of "green" architecture.

With the help of an artificial lake, which is part of the hospital ensemble, it will be possible to dispense with air conditioning in the building: the premises will be cooled due to the thermal inertia of the reservoir; during the construction of the hospital, wood will be actively used as one of the most environmentally friendly materials.

Innovative technologies will also be applied in the roof solution. The central lobby of the hospital will be covered with a self-supporting inflatable membrane made of ETFE plastic: it is from this membrane that the shell of the Allianz stadium by Herzog & de Meuron in Munich is made.

The project budget was 80 million euros; construction work is due to start in 2009.
