Her rivals in the final were the London branch of HOK and the Polish workshop APAKA.
The architects' task was to create a new multifunctional arena for the 2012 European Football Championship. The stadium will be built on the site of the country's existing main sports arena, on the eastern bank of the Vistula. The number of seats there will be 55,000.
A special feature of the new structure will be the floors of an innovative design: the membrane roof can be quickly stretched over the entire area of the playing field, which will allow the stadium to be used in all weather conditions.
The system of spectator seats-terraces will also be transformed, which will allow adapting the arena for holding competitions in athletics, raising the level of the field to the height of the middle terrace.
Outside, the stadium will resemble a huge basket - an allusion to the craft traditions of Poland, and it will be painted in red and white - the colors of the Polish flag, which will emphasize its role as the main national arena.
