The building of the scientific institute, founded in 2006, will be located between the railway tracks, highways and the green zone. The outlines of the site, its configuration became for the architect the "generator of the form" of the new building; also of great importance was the fact that this area connects the two parts of the university campus into a single whole.
The connection between the formal solution of the building and the lines of movement in and around it also played a decisive role in the design. Sunlight and wind pass freely through the building; structural and aerodynamic fins on its roof allow to regulate access of all rooms to natural light and ventilation.
A long alley leads to the main entrance to the Center, passing through a green space. Its line - already inside the building - is continued by the central corridor, which directs the main human flows through the building. It divides the interior of the building according to the functional purpose of the premises: on the upper level there are laboratories and exhibition halls overlooking the garden; on the lower tier there are researchers' offices, as well as a library and meeting rooms (they are oriented towards railway tracks).
In the northern part of the building, the roof level rises, marking a turn at this point in the main corridor; a double-height gallery with stairs at each end and a central ramp forms a "loop" of movement there, creating a constant cycle between the laboratory and the "theoretical" sections.
