Last Saturday in Ufa, the winners of the competition were chosen for the improvement of the space near the Sutoloka River - in the place where it flows into the Belaya. 24 participants presented their vision of the walking area on the embankment, which stretches along the Sutoloka, from among them the jury chose three winners.
It is believed that the Sutoloka River used to be full-flowing and played an important role in the development of the city. Now it is a crushed and polluted inflow, most of which is hidden in a pipe. One of the uncovered sections of 750 meters in length is located at the mouth of the river, and the participants of the competition worked on the regeneration of this coastal zone.
The competition was held as part of the Eco-Shore 2019 festival by the Union of Moscow Architects and the Union of Architects of Bashkortostan. In total, the organizers received 70 applications. From 17 to 19 October, the competition works can be seen at the Zodchestvo 2019 festival.
1st prize
Julia Lysova, Olga Rakova(Nizhny Novgorod)
The authors organized the space "according to the Kremlin principle." It turned out to be such a mini-city with many buildings of different functional purposes, connected into a single system. The role of the Kremlin towers is played by pavilions: in one there is an entrance, in the other there is an educational center, there is a cafe, a playroom for children, an observation deck and a club. It is important that all the projected spaces can be used in the cold season, and in winter ice skating and snowmobiling along the Belaya River are added to the list of entertainment. By the way, the proposed concept is a kind of tribute to the history of the city: there was a wooden Ufa Kremlin nearby, alas, which has not survived to this day.
2nd prize

In this concept, a detailed plan for the regeneration of the Sutolok is presented. The contestants propose to build a pumping station that will pump non-purified liquid waste, a cascade system for water aeration, bridges and a soaring waterfall to filter it.
The authors remind that at the river delta there is also an entrance to the city - a "strategically important" point; this is the first thing that guests of the metropolis see. It is proposed to refine it by creating a single architectural ensemble. Here, Siberian architects propose to build an overpass of a transport interchange, and under it to start up a pedestrian transit. The safe reaction zone will connect the Vatan park, the embankment and the park in the Sutoloki valley. The multifunctional complex "Ufa", which includes offices and living quarters, is proposed as a high-rise dominant.
III prize
Pavel Tinyaev, Elena Kornilova, Leila Abdulzalimova, Sabina Valeeva(Kazan)
The new city park is a place where various types of activities, historical meanings and national flavor are intertwined. Kazan architects decided to place here a river yacht club, an extreme park, a stadium and grounds for practicing urban sports. A place is provided for the construction of a hotel complex with a sports and recreation center and the arrangement of an arboretum, on the territory of which the main representatives of the flora of Bashkortostan will grow. A replica of a 16th century fortification will be recreated in the park; it will also serve as a center for historical reconstruction.
