These are three buildings: VitraHouse by Herzog & de Meuron and the elegant oval building SANAA, which will serve as a warehouse for finished products, are already under construction and close to completion, while the project of Alejandro Aravena's art studio is still under development.
These buildings will be on display in the form of models, renderings and detailed descriptions. They will be supplemented by photographs of Olivio Barberi, Gabriele Basilico, Giovanni Chiaramonte and Paola De Pietri, which show these and other buildings of the Vitra ensemble in Germany, as well as the company's complex in Birsfelden, Switzerland, including buildings designed by Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Alvaro Siza, Nicholas Grimshaw and other leading contemporary architects.
The Building Vitra exhibition will open on September 12 at the ISR-Spazio Culturale Svizzero di Venezia and will run until the end of the month. An installation by the architect Vincenzo Casali, which is part of the same set of events, titled “Behind my back is the headquarters of Vitra by F. O. Geri”, will be located in the open air, in Campo Sant'Anese. It is dedicated to the Vitra Center building in Birsfelden, built in 1994. The installation can be viewed until November 30.
