The skyscraper was erected on the territory of the Kista district, where one of the international airports serving Stockholm is located. The tower, located exactly between the center of the Swedish capital and its air gates, was interpreted by architects not just as a new vertical dominant, but as a kind of lighthouse - a landmark both for those who are going to fly from Stockholm and for those who see the city from the air for the first time.
In addition, the tower was erected on the territory of one of the largest industrial parks in the region, and the conference center and hotel located there will become part of its infrastructure. Therefore, when designing a high-rise volume, the architects initially looked for a form that could serve as a vivid and understandable symbol of IT technologies.
The building is a vertical parallelepiped, the side edges of which were cut diagonally by the architects. True, these sections are not brought to the very top, due to which the building resembles the letter "T".
For its cladding, Wingårdh Arkitektkontor used glass in eight different shades from light pink and yellow to blue and purple, with each panel in the shape of a triangle, and when stacked together in a chaotic manner, they form the most color combinations. From a distance, this variegation is not at all readable - the glass shell of the building looks like scales, the color of which changes depending on the time of day - but close up it amazes with its multicolor, more than compensating for the simplicity of the architectural form.
The multicolored glazing also plays an important role in shaping the appearance of the interior spaces of the tower - in fact, there is not a single room similar to each other.
The already mentioned conference center is located in the stylobate part of the complex. The hotel occupies 22 floors out of 34 (a total of 229 rooms), the rest are offices, and the upper level is reserved for a panoramic bar. The reception area, hotel rooms, conference rooms and the bar are equipped with designer furniture produced under the famous Vitra brand.
