More precisely, it will be held between two important arenas for the upcoming Olympics: O2 (formerly Richard Rogers' Millennium Dome) and ExCel. The route will be 1.1 km between North Greenwich and Royal Victoria Dock; its maximum height will be 54 m.
A 93-meter main tower will be built in the dock area, and a 66-meter intermediate support will be located in the middle of the route.
The cable car stations will be two-story shops with a lobby, ticket office, shops and cafes.
The route will run 34 gondolas for 10 people each; in addition to pedestrians (primarily Londoners going to work and home), they will be able to transport wheelchair users, cyclists and even scooter owners.
The road is planned to be commissioned in 2012; however, observers note that it would be cheaper and more efficient to set up a ferry service in this place on the Thames.
