Located on the banks of the Elbe in Hamburg's new Hafen City, the 17-storey Marco Polo tower completes the route to the city's new attractions, the Strandkai beach promenade and the cruise ship pier.
The building has an intricate sculptural shape and an unusual structure: its floors rounded in the plan are "strung" on the central axis of the staircase and elevator node and rotated relative to it by several degrees in one direction or another. As a result, among the 58 apartments, ranging in size from 60 to 340 m2, there are no two identical ones. At the same time, all apartments received excellent views of the harbor, including due to the spacious terraces and balconies that surround the building.
Terraces also protect the retreating facades from direct sunlight. The house is equipped with a heat exchanger that converts the heat accumulated by vacuum solar collectors into coolness to maintain a comfortable temperature in the apartments, and natural ventilation.
