The Arganzuela Bridge, intended for cyclists and pedestrians, spans the Manzanares River. It connects the districts of Arganzuela (one of the central districts in Madrid) and the rapidly developing Carabanchel.

The Perrault building is part of the new Arganzuela park, which was created on the banks of the Manzanares and is part of the large ensemble of public spaces in Madrid Rio. Previously, there was a ring road along the river, and the role of this area as a recreational area was minimal. But in the 2000s, the city authorities decided to remove the highway into a tunnel, and turn 23 hectares from the vacated area into a park.

The bridge consists of two "cones": the first connects the banks of the river and ends on a small hill, and the second extending it descends from this hill to the level of the nearest street. The gap at the junction of these two parts, located at an angle to each other, serves as a viewing platform: from it you can clearly see the historic Toledo Bridge.

In general, the structure is a pipe of two parallel spirals made of steel trusses: they are the supporting structure of the building. One of the resulting spatial "ribbons" is left free, the second is covered with a metal mesh, Perrault's favorite material. This solution will provide both wind and sun protection and adequate lighting. The pavement is made of wood.
