Platonov entered this project gradually. First, the architect received an order for the development of interiors - by that time the mansion itself was already in full swing under the project of another author - and then, inventing the interior appearance of the house, he fully realized the need to reconstruct its outer shell and, most surprisingly, was able to convince the customers of this … There really was something to reconstruct: a massive, multi-part volume was being erected on a small site, which threatened to overwhelm the neighboring cottages. The situation was even more complicated by the fact that the site itself is located at one of the crossroads of the village - it is clear that the bulky "chest" could change it beyond recognition. At the same time, Vladislav Platonov, of course, did not have the opportunity to demolish the half-built object, so the architect worked with what he had, making every effort to neutralize the impressiveness of the structure, “dissolve” it in the surrounding space.

First of all, the architect wanted to change the scale of those facades that face the intersection. To make these "representative" sides more proportional to their counterparts, Platonov pulled the overhangs of the roof almost to the ground itself, and made the garage and veranda attached to the main volume as open as possible, covering them with deliberately elongated canopies. In general, all the thick, almost fortified walls painted by Platonov's predecessor were eventually cut into separate, smaller fragments. This can be seen especially well on the plan: the walls have become thinner and seem to have "parted", making room for separate supports.

The play of planes introduced in this way into the appearance of the house visually splits a large volume into several smaller ones - this theme is actively developing on the other two facades of the house, where multifaceted bay windows alternate with gables and windows of different sizes and shapes. The high pediment on the main facade, where the ridge of the roof is "pierced" by two white verticals of the beams, turned out to be very impressive - in addition to the general expressiveness of the silhouette, this element also plays an important utilitarian role: a massive satellite TV antenna is placed on it.

Two words must be said about the color of this object. For the walls, Vladislav Platonov, without hesitation, chose white - hardly any other tone can visually facilitate a large volume, make it as solemn. But the architect, on the contrary, preferred to refuse from the traditional cottage range "light walls - dark roof". Unfortunately, it is rather difficult to understand from the photographs, but when you get to know the house in reality, its unusual color scheme at first glance conquers with its elegance and softness. The fact is that the lilac-gray soft roof "Ecopal" and the rich purple color of the edge of the roof - the sheathing of the rafters of the structure - are the key elements of the make up. The chimneys and window sashes are finished in the same color.

The interior design of this house, which the author himself often calls "fantasy on the theme of Art Nouveau" (allusions to the Northern Art Nouveau in the appearance of this mansion are really obvious), is dominated by natural wood of different species and shades. And if from the outside the mansion seems to be assembled from many disparate elements, then in its internal structure, on the contrary, the main role is given to the principle of a single space. In particular, Platonov links all the public areas of the first floor with each other: this front part, designed as a kind of enfilade opening along the longitudinal axis of the building, includes an entrance hall and a staircase hall, a large living room and a sofa room, as well as a billiard room. It is interesting that the bay windows (one is located in the living room, the other in the sofa), although they are opposite each other, do not coincide with the axes of symmetry: according to the architect, this brings additional dynamism to the space of the house, since it makes it possible to see both centers of attraction " public life from a variety of angles. The geometric pattern chosen as the main theme - simple, but having hundreds of variations: both the wall cladding, the door leaves, and the built-in wardrobes are made of wooden crossing slats, also helps Platonov to diversify the visual impressions when moving around the house and deprive his premises of isolation.

Most of the furniture, including the built-in ones, was made according to the author's sketches, Vladislav Platonov invented for this house and lamps - metal acute-angled structures resembling the bottom of a ship - as well as a fireplace made of black and white superimposed on each other in a checkerboard pattern metal sheets. But, perhaps, the most unusual element of this interior is the main staircase, organized around a pseudoatrium, the ceiling of which is lined with polished glass panels, and wooden columns branching upwards play the role of supports.

As in the previous work of Vladislav Platonov, also realized in the Sokol settlement, the quality of elaboration of every detail plays the main role in this project. The house, the architectural appearance of which developed "from the inside out", resembles a complex puzzle, assembled from the smallest fragments into a skillful canvas, to which there is nothing to add.
