The main difficulty of the assignment was the size of the structure: the building plot has an area of 14.4 hectares, and the building itself will eventually reach a size of almost 100 thousand m2. The rest of the space was turned into a park, with which it was necessary to coordinate the architecture of the building.
To visually unite all parts of the hospital, a clear and restrained solution of the facades was used: the powerful concrete "lattice" hiding behind it the continuous glazing is easy to read from afar, sets the scale of the structure and immediately allows you to estimate its size.
Another basis of the project is a series of rectangular courtyards, both internal and open to the outside: they form the composition of the building. As a result, the hospital consists of five "modules" that are independent from a functional point of view.
Courtyards not only help you navigate inside the building, but also bring in sunlight and views of green spaces - both in the courtyards themselves and in the surrounding park.
The project will be fully implemented in 2018.
