The interior of the boutique seems to have been created by water that has been carving rocks over the years. Even the streamlined openings of the shop windows and the main entrance on the facade resemble the opening of a sea grotto.
Inside, spaces of white concrete flow into one another, like in a real cave; the impression is accentuated by thoughtful lighting. The exposition of Roca products is complemented by modern media installations.
The store will not become an exclusively retail outlet: it is planned to hold seminars and round tables on design, as well as presentations and exhibitions within its walls.
Attention to design is characteristic of all Roca's activities: the company regularly hosts the Jump the gap competition (
www.jumpthegap.net), and also engages in collaboration in the development of collections of prominent architects and designers, including David Chipperfield, Raphael Moneo, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron.
