Within the framework of the Days of Italian Culture in Russia, the V International Festival of Architecture and Design will be held in Omsk next week. One of the main topics of this show will be the present and future interaction of Russian and Italian cultures. The program of the fifth anniversary festival also includes exhibitions of regional and foreign projects in the field of architecture and design, thematic master classes and seminars. The festival will end with a solemn ceremony of awarding the "Siberian Oscar in the field of architecture, urban planning and design" - the winners will receive the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pyramids.
On November 17 and 18, the Moscow Architectural Institute will host an international symposium "Sustainable Architecture: Present and Future", at which leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of energy efficient technologies will speak. The symposium program is so extensive that reports and discussions will be held in four sections at once: "Sustainable architecture as a way of thinking", "Development of a modern urban planning environment and preservation of the environment for future generations", "Practice of sustainable architecture and trends in its development" and "Engineering technical and economic issues of ensuring the sustainability of projects”. Especially for the start of the symposium, MArchI students will prepare an exhibition where they will present their understanding of sustainable architecture.
The International Design + Architecture Film Festival (or simply “DA! Fest 2011”) starts in St. Petersburg on November 15th. Film directors from 6 countries of the world will take part in this show. They will present 13 films on architecture and 19 on industrial design. In addition to watching films, visitors will be able to take part in master classes and get acquainted with the Moscow traveling exhibition ARCH Angels. Also in St. Petersburg will take place "Arch-meeting", organized by Archnest.com, - the first friendly meeting of young architects from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Khabarovsk, during which they will exchange creative plans and achievements, discuss opportunities for cooperation and present joint projects.
In Yekaterinburg, we will remind, in the meantime, the festival "White Tower" continues. Very soon it will be possible to visit the exhibition “Wooden architecture of Riga”, and its opening will be preceded by a lecture “Some ways of preserving the rich heritage of wooden architecture in Latvia”.
And in conclusion of the announcement, we will tell you about several lectures, which will be held next week at MUAR. On November 15, Michele Piccini, a famous Italian architect, one of the founders of the MAPP Architectural Studio, will speak at the museum, dealing with urbanism, restoration, design of public, residential, office buildings, schools, interior design, etc. And on November 17, with a lecture on early Moscow architecture of the 1320-1430s. famous art critic Yulia Ratomskaya will perform.
