This college is one of the few in the United States that trains not lawyers, but law enforcement officers: police officers, forensic psychologists, forensic experts, as well as specialists in virtual security and emergency workers.
Until recently, most of the premises of the university were concentrated in the Haren Hall building of 1906, built in the mainstream of eclecticism. The new building is connected to it by a 4-storey "podium", and the height of its main part reaches 14 storeys. Some of the facades are transparent, some are equipped with aluminum profiles covered with red dots of varying density. The saturation of the tone varies from floor to floor, visually dividing the building into tiers, as well as linking it to the red-brick surroundings.
The main feature of the building's interior is the "public cascade" of halls and staircase lobbies, descending from the tower building to the "base" and going along it to the historic building. This space, along with the green roof of the podium, serves as the main place for interdisciplinary student communication, which architects consider the most important function of any university.
On an area of 58 thousand square meters, there are new lecture and seminar rooms, teachers' offices, laboratories, a conference center and even a "training" courtroom. The construction budget was about $ 600 million.
