The famous architect flew in at the special invitation of ROCKWOOL to share his vision of sustainable development and trends in architecture.

ROCKWOOL traditionally pays great attention to popularizing energy-saving technologies in construction and talks about available ways to save energy for heating buildings. In order to further demonstrate these ideas, ROCKWOOL invites every year the authoritative representatives of the architectural community who share the company's views on energy efficiency in architecture and use the principles of sustainable development in their professional practice. This year, the guest of the event was Fermin Vasquez, the founder of the b720 architectural bureau, who considers its main principle to be the use of energy and materials in the construction and operation of buildings.

In his lecture, Mr. Vasquez talked about his own experience in designing energy efficient buildings in Europe and South America and shared his view on current trends in architecture. Among them are the use of renewable materials, minimization of energy use in construction, design of buildings in such a way that during its operation a minimum amount of energy is required for heating or cooling.

Mr. Vasquez emphasized that “the most effective way to reduce the energy consumption of a building is to have high-quality thermal insulation”. In Spain, in contrast to Russia, the task of the architect is to protect the designed object from overheating. However, both in cold winter and hot summer, non-combustible stone wool insulation equally reliably protects the building from heat loss, maintaining a comfortable temperature in the premises.
