The new APPS navigation lights from the SOFT ARCHITECTURE collection by FLOS by designer Jorge Herrera have received two important awards: the Red Dot Design Award 2012 and the 2012 GOOD DESIGN Award.
The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious design award awarded by the European Institute for Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia, located in Essen (Germany).
The award is given to designers and manufacturing companies for outstanding quality and exceptional achievement in the design of consumer goods. The award-winning works are exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, which is by far the world's largest collection of contemporary design achievements.
APPS are small flat luminaires with navigation icons, rounded edges and multi-colored halo illumination. Soft light-color, roundness of lines and pleasant sensations make these cute office "things" an attractive element of office space and an expressive means of communication.
APPS is a LED wall light with navigation sign concept. One LED integrated into the luminaire performs two lighting functions at once: it illuminates the information icon and creates contour illumination of different colors, which also carries information. APPS belongs to the Soft-architecture collection, as the base of the structure is made of plaster - a special patented material for architectural forms. Some forms are equipped with emergency power supplies, as required by the regulations for navigation lighting.
