The total area of the future center will be over 100 thousand m2. In fact, this is a whole town with many laboratories, offices and recreational areas intended for scientists from all over the world who will be invited to work on the new particle accelerator. The giant device, which is planned to be located in the Swedish city of Lund, will have a length of 600 m. And although in size it promises to be significantly smaller than its famous counterpart - the Large Hadron Collider, these installations are quite comparable in importance for modern science: the new object will allow carrying out a variety of experiments, including in the field of medical, bio- and nanotechnology.

Developing the general plan of the future complex, Henning Larsen's bureau based the project on the main element of any accelerator - the ring. All buildings of the center are inscribed in a circle, and a round roof covers several of them, creating a comfortable all-season space not only for work, but also for communication. In general, the closest attention is paid to the possibilities of informal communication between employees of various laboratories in this project: in each building there is an atrium with a cafe, meeting rooms and recreation areas, additional recreational corners will be created on the territory of the complex and outside the buildings.

Of course, the Swedish weather will not allow scientists to spend much time outdoors between October and March, but the carefully studied wind rose allowed the architects to arrange the buildings of the center so that its microclimate was as favorable as possible. According to experts, walking around the town will be comfortable on average 2-3 weeks longer than the traditional warm season lasts. The buildings of the center themselves are planned to be made as energy efficient as possible.
