The flat roof of the skyscraper with the helipad had been out of use for many years, leading the owners of the building, the Coca-Cola Corporation, to consider a redevelopment. Its concept, and then the reconstruction project itself, was commissioned by Michel Rohkind, who proposed to create an original working space here, reliably sheltered from the scorching sun by a green roof.
The office itself is located under the helipad: the "box" of the heliport has now received a new content. Rohkind builds the existing volume on all sides with transparent curved walls, and on top places a green roof, the viability of which is ensured by rainwater collection and treatment systems. Naturally, taking into account the local climate, mainly grasses and succulents are planted here, between which there are wooden paths for walking and admiring the panoramas of the city. Similar mini-gardens have been created on the very roof of the skyscraper in such a way that they will be visible from almost every workplace in the new office.
The curvilinear plan assumes great flexibility in the interior layout, and the architect uses this advantage: the main area of the office is occupied by a multifunctional "open space" and a meeting room, the dimensions of which can be varied thanks to mobile partitions. A special tunnel leads from the working area to the elevator connecting the office on the roof with the main building.
