International Property Awards is an ambitious award; claiming to cover real estate all over the world, it constantly complicates its structure. So, if last year in each region of the world only honorary diplomas and the highest award "five stars" (one in each nomination for each country) were awarded, which participated in the further drawing of the international prize, now a new intermediate step has appeared: "the best projects region”(in this case, the region is Europe), one in each nomination. It is they who, apparently, will now apply for the international prize, the laureates of which will be announced in December.
So, in 2013 in architectural nominations, a total of 23 Russian projects were awarded (15 in the "Architecture" section, and 8 - "Interiors"). Out of twenty-three, two reached the next level, that is, they became the winners of the “region of Europe” in their nomination. One in the architectural section, the Mercury Tower (Frank Williams, Erik Egeraat and Mikhail Posokhin), was named “the best skyscraper in Europe in 2013”. And one in the interior: luxuriously cinematic, but certainly bold and interesting, Sergey Estrin's interior with a glass glowing wave - "Mr. Sh's penthouse" in one of the Moscow City skyscrapers, became "the best interior of a private apartment in Europe" in 2013 year.
In the development section, two more Russian buildings reached the semifinals: a class A business center, by Renaissance Development and the Utesov residential complex by Gras.
