The gaping wasteland on the site of the oldest Moscow stadium "Dynamo" for several months suggests that the VTB Arena Park project, after repeated alterations, has finally begun to be actively implemented. On the eve, according to the official website, they began to strengthen the foundations of the preserved historical wall. Three years ago, a full-scale reconstruction of the stadium was associated with the name of Erik van Egeraat, who won an international competition. But in the recent materials of "Kommersant" not a word about him: the newspaper talked with the general designer of the project Sergei Tchoban and the architect of the arena itself David Manika. Recall that VTB Arena Park is not only a stadium, but also the adjacent Petrovsky Park and the Dynamo Physical Culture and Recreation Park: according to Choban, the only architectural and urban planning ensemble in the current Moscow practice is being implemented now. TPO "Reserve" is working on it together with Sergei Tchoban's bureau. And for the concept of the Dynamo park, adds Choban, a separate competition was held, in which Alexander Konstantinov, Ilya Zalivukhin and the Praktika architectural bureau won. By the way, the preserved walls of the old constructivist stadium, according to David Manik, added difficulties to the already unique design of the arena, in which a football stadium, a hockey arena and a public area are connected at once.

Another major reconstruction in Moscow, the Sretensky Monastery, is striking in scale, about which Konstantin Mikhailov, coordinator of "Arkhnadzor" writes in Gazeta.ru. The city activist is openly frightened by the size of the new cathedral, for the sake of which the territory of the cultural heritage site will be “cleaned up” of several buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The scale of underground structures is also frightening: according to Mikhailov's estimates, the area of the cathedral, which exceeds the Assumption in the Kremlin, is only five percent of the projected building. So the proportions of this multi-level "pie" are even more impressive than in the new Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the city activist concludes.

Meanwhile, the activists lost the court on the illegal demolition of the buildings of the Catherine Hospital - the territory of the monument, we recall, thus prepared for the construction of a new building of the Moscow City Duma. And the recent incident with the defenders of the development of Kozikhinsky Lane, due to which the municipal deputy Elena Tkach ended up in the hospital with a concussion, made one think that the activists' case could be not only hopeless, but also dangerous. Although in St. Petersburg, the stubborn struggle of the media community for the Sukhozanet mansion, better known as the House of Journalists on Nevsky Prospekt, has borne fruit: the city authorities abandoned the idea of a grandiose reconstruction of the monument with a glass dome overlapping, St. Petersburg Vedomosti writes.

But now the defenders of historical St. Petersburg are looking with dismay at the project approved the day before for a new building of the State Russian and Russian Ethnographic Museums in the Mikhailovsky Garden, boldly complementing the famous ensemble of Karl Rossi. Maria Elkina writes on the portal art1.ru that the project of the architect Mamoshin is not even "a dubious attempt to complete a building or an ensemble according to drawings of centuries ago, it is simply a free and inexplicable fantasy." According to the journalist, museums should follow the example of the Hermitage and build their storage facilities outside the historic center.

And in Moscow with the extravagant idea of transferring the Mausoleum to the Museum of Architecture. Shchuseva made a speech the other day, its director Irina Korobyina, writes heartnewspaper.ru. Korobyina recalled that a number of outstanding monuments are already under the jurisdiction of the museum, and the most famous building of Alexei Shchusev, after the leader is finally buried, should join this series.

An exhibition of the best projects of the All-Russian competition for the renewed look of kindergartens has opened at Winzavod this week. The most original, according to Vedomosti, the jury recognized the project of Moscow architects Pavel Khegai, Sergei Kan, Evgeny Morozov and Yegor Khimenkov, who designed a modular kindergarten, like multi-colored children's blocks. By the way, color today is becoming an attribute not only of children's institutions, but also of residential neighborhoods. The new head of Vladivostok's urban design department, young artist Pavel Shugurov, this week told berlogos.ru how to paint the city correctly and convince its residents that colorful stripes on their houses are better than gray concrete.

By the way, the mayors of Russian cities will now also be taught correct urbanism: as Kommersant writes, the Kremlin organized seminars for them, at which, in particular, the Dutch architect Winy Maas spoke, and the Strelka Institute organized the exhibition Five Steps to a Modern City. … The news, meanwhile, aroused great interest and a lot of jokes in the professional community, comments Peter Ivanov on the urbanurban.ru portal; although the increased interest of the authorities in urban studies has completely unfunny consequences, the author believes, and will contribute to "further profanation of the already dubious urban process."
