The Leuven University Information Center has been designed with a focus on reducing operating costs and saving energy. There is a large amount of electronic equipment inside the building, and it was necessary for it to ensure a constant temperature regime. In order to exclude additional heat energy from the outside, the architects placed EQUITONE fiber cement panels throughout the facade, which protect the windows from direct sunlight, leaving enough light energy to fill the interior. The building has acquired a greater volume, while it has become light, as if hovering over a gray plinth.

Typically, EQUITONE fiber cement panels, manufactured by Eternit, are used in curtain-type ventilated facade systems. In the Leuven University Information Center project, they easily coped with the task of cooling the building.

Fiber cement panel EQUITONE [textura]® TG 102 and EQUITONE [natura]® N251 - natural composite materials. Building facades made of EQUITONE fiber cement panels feature a thin, lightweight structure that minimizes depletion of raw materials. Facade materials from EQUITONE fiber-reinforced concrete are produced in accordance with the latest technologies at factories in Germany and Belgium, in full compliance with the requirements for modern facade and composite materials.

In Russia

ETERNIT fiber cement panels appeared in the late nineties. There are already residential buildings in Kaliningrad with facades from Belgium, a hospital in Murmansk, an airport in Nadym, a school in Yakutia. And during the construction of the third transport ring in Moscow, the walls of seven motor transport tunnels were faced with Eternit fiber cement panels.

ETERNIT is currently a division of the Etex Group of Companies. The Etex concern unites 123 companies from 45 countries of the world and has more than 18 thousand employees. The group also includes other well-known construction brands: Promat (fire protection), Creaton (ceramics), Marley (cement tiles), Siniat (drywall). All this makes the Etex concern one of the world leaders in the production of building materials.
