The jury awarded the victory to the project of the Russian representative office of an international consortium Cushman & wakefield … Besides him, 4 more teams participated in the second stage of the competition: Hosper from the Netherlands, which took second place; Russian EPI Mosproekt-5 and Citymakers, which ranked third and fourth; and BBDB from the USA (5th place).
British landscape architects join the Cushman & Wakefield consortium Gillespies and architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios … The team also included Russian companies Strategy Partners Group, NEBA LLC, TerraViva International Environmental Movement, Katri Format LLC, British firms Buro Happold, Fourth Street Place Consultants, Ray Hole Architects, as well as Puy du Fou International (France), MaxMakers (Switzerland), Jack Rouse Associates and Conventional Wisdom from the USA, international companies Populous and Rider Levett Bucknall.
A landscape park will appear in the Domodedovo area. On the territory of more than 1000 hectares, the sights of different parts of Russia will be recreated in miniature, as well as areas for entertainment and sports. The project will take 12 years and about 8 billion rubles. However, the organizers of the competition report that so far this is only a preliminary concept of the park, and a detailed project will be developed in the future.
According to the RBK portal, the park will be divided into several thematic zones, in addition, it is planned to place a tourist zone here for long-term recreation. The sights of the park will be the observation tower-flagpole with an information center and the Presidential Botanical Garden with an area of about 70 hectares, where they plan to place a winter garden, greenhouses and gardens from different countries of the world. Also on the territory will be built pavilions and parks of 8 federal districts of Russia, exhibitions of modern achievements of the country and another "park within the park" - "Legends of Russia", which will reproduce the most important episodes of the history of our country.
As a reminder, the competition was organized by the Russian Geographical Society and the government of the Moscow region.
