The Museum of Art is located in the city of Aspen in the Rocky Mountains. Spectacular natural surroundings determined the solution of the project: the lobby and other public spaces are located on the roof - the only terrace of this kind in the city with mountain views, accessible to everyone.
The glazed facades of the building are covered with weaving made of Prodema: a mixture of resin and rubber, sandwiched between plywood sheets. The roof of the building is supported by wooden trusses.
Upon entering the museum, visitors climb to the roof in a spacious glass elevator or along a wide grand staircase divided in half by a glass wall: partly it is located between it and the openwork facade, partly inside the building.
On an area of 3,000 m2, there are 6 exhibition halls, a café, a bar and a rooftop film screening area, a bookstore, a storeroom and an artist's residence.
