The requirements of building codes for the resistance to heat transfer of building envelopes, in force in Russia today, are so great that when designing buildings and structures, it is impossible to do without modern technologies and insulation systems. External enclosing structures of heated residential, industrial and public buildings must not only meet the requirements of strength, stability, fire resistance, durability, efficiency and modern design, but also have appropriate thermal performance.

There are several types of thermal insulation systems: systems with a thin and thick plaster layer, systems with a ventilation gap, translucent systems, laminated masonry, sandwich panels.

Rising energy prices have transformed homeowners' attitudes towards the quality and efficiency of building envelope. They began to pay more attention to the heat-saving parameters of building systems and the durability of both newly built and existing buildings.

Plaster facade systems are the most efficient in terms of energy saving, since they have the highest coefficient of thermal uniformity. This is achieved due to the absence of rigid connections within the system, which can be conductors (bridges) of cold.

This system is perfect both for finishing new buildings and for the reconstruction of old buildings, provides the most comfortable indoor climate and makes it easy to perform any architectural delights: columns, pilasters, rustic stones, key stones. In addition, this insulation system has excellent sound insulating properties, high strength, stability and reliability during operation in a wide temperature range. It is a robust and durable system with a proven track record.

Plaster facades still bear the conditional name "wet" because in the processes used in the production of facade work, water is used (as a solvent for the materials used).

The plaster façade system is a complex multi-layer façade structure consisting of several layers.

The outer wall (1) is covered with a reinforcing primer (2), then heat-insulating plates are glued to the wall with an adhesive (3). Stone wool slabs (4) TECHNOFAS, TECHNOFAS Effect or special facade grades of polystyrene are used as heat-insulating material. The thickness of this layer is selected according to the heat engineering calculation. An additional fastening is the facade dowels (5), which are mounted according to a certain scheme, 72 hours after the thermal insulation layer has been glued. To create a durable surface, a reinforcing layer (6) with a fiberglass mesh (7) is used, which is covered with a layer of decorative plaster (8). The main component in plaster facade systems is a thermal insulation material, the cost of which can be up to half the cost of the entire system.

For the device of the plaster facade, brands of insulation are used, specially created to work in this system. It is important that the thermal insulation material withstands the stresses of the decorative plaster layer and complies with the safety requirements of the system. These are the materials that TechnoNICOL Company produces.

For thermal insulation systems of thin-layer plaster facades in the TechnoNICOL range there are non-combustible hydrophobic heat- and sound-proof stone wool materials of the TECHNOFAS and TECHNOFAS brands Effect:

Both materials have the following properties:

- high heat-saving ability, - high tensile strength of layers, - vapor permeability, - incombustibility, - good sound absorption.

All TEHNONICOL thermal insulation materials are manufactured in accordance with technical specifications, are certified and environmentally friendly.

The comparison table clearly shows the technical characteristics of the two materials.
